Ma Cousine Nadia

Sound documentary. Nadia Amiel and Nadia Dray are cousins, both born in Morocco, both now in their seventies. In the late 50's, aged 11 and 13, respectively, one moved to Israel while the other emigrated to France. Both Nadias believe they could have lived a better life in the country they did not end up in: Nadia Amiel, who lives in the coastal town of Ashdod, envies the well being enjoyed by her cousin in France, while Nadia Dray thinks there is no better place than the Jewish state. Their perspectives on each other and on themselves show the complex identity of North African Jews in France and in Israel.
